Loan Modification Help

If you want a loan modification or refinance under the national mortgage settlement, contact your servicer:

Settlement Compensation Help

The Settlement Administrator has made payments to most eligible borrowers. The Office of Mortgage Settlement Oversight is not the Settlement Administrator and does not handle or oversee direct payments to consumers within the settlement. If you have questions about your eligibility or compensation under the settlement, please call the Settlement Administrator toll-free at 1-866-430-8358.

Complaints Help

If you have applied for a loan modification, but are having difficulties obtaining a final decision or communicating with your servicer, you may file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office.

  • Consumer complaint forms are available at www.ag.idaho.gov or by calling the Consumer Protection Division at 800-432-3545.
  • The Attorney General’s housing specialist—Kathy Ream—is available to answer homeowners’ questions about the national mortgage settlement. To speak to Ms. Ream, call 208-334-4536. You also may email her at Kathy.ream@ag.idaho.gov.

The federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau accepts consumer complaints about loan servicers on the CFPB’s website at www.consumerfinance.gov. You can speak with a CFPB representative at 855-411-2372.

If you lost money to a foreclosure rescue company or a debt relief organization, file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office as soon as possible. Complaint forms are available at www.ag.idaho.gov.

Tenant Help

If you are a tenant who lives in a residence undergoing a foreclosure, you have rights under the federal Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act. For more information about the law, please visit the Attorney General’s website at www.ag.idaho.gov. If you need legal assistance, please contact:
