NMS Monitor: SunTrust fails Metric 4 in all four quarters of 2016 but has no fails in first half of 2017
Joseph Smith reports on SunTrust’s consumer compliance results
RALEIGH, N.C. – Joseph A. Smith, Jr., Monitor of the National Mortgage Settlement (NMS), reported today that SunTrust failed Metric 4 in each of the four quarters of 2016, but did not fail any compliance metrics tested during the first half of 2017.
SunTrust passed Metric 4 during the cure period (Q2 2017) and is continuing to implement its Metric 4 remediation plan to correct past fails. The servicer completed its Metric 8 remediation plan and passed the metric during the cure period (Q2 2017).
“SunTrust continues to make progress under the NMS,” said Smith. “I will continue to monitor SunTrust’s consumer compliance obligations and will report my findings to the Court and the public in the future.”
Smith’s past reports can be found on his website, www.mortgageoversight.com.
